Signing up to Use the AdSense API Web Services

To use the AdSense API, write a client program in the programming language or your choice. We have tested Java, Perl, PHP, Python and C#, and have sample code for those languages. Write your client program to send a request to one of the AdSense web services, such as the AccountService or AdSenseForContentService. The relevant service will process the request and send back a response, which your client program needs to parse.
Note: A
Sandbox is available for testing and debugging AdSense API clients. This service replicates the live website and lets you simulate creating AdSense accounts for new or existing publishers, associate those accounts with their own developer account, and then test operations on that account. You can write the part of your client program that sends requests and receives responses by filling out implementation to stubs that you generate from the AdSense WSDL files. You generate the stubs by downloading the WSDL files from www.google.com, at the location shown further below, and running a program to convert the WSDL files to source files in your programming language of choice. For Java, using Axis, this would be something like:
export AXIS_CLASSPATH="/java/apache_axis/axis-ant.jar:/java/apache_axis/axis.jar:/java/apache_axis/commons-discovery.jar:/java/apache_axis/commons-logging.jar:/java/apache_axis/jaxrpc.jar:/java/apache_axis/saaj.jar:/java/apache_axis/wsdl4j.jar"
java -cp $AXIS_CLASSPATH org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java -p com.google.api.adsense.v2 AccountService.wsdl
These stub files are the starting point for your client program.
-->
Since the AdSense API runs as a web service, you don't need to install the AdSense API. The only software you need to install to use the AdSense API is the software for the programming language and toolkit that you will be using to write your client programs. For example, if you intend to write your client programs in Java, you will need to install the
Java Development Kit and also a SOAP toolkit such as Axis. See the section Soap Toolkits for a list of possible toolkits for various languages.
The operations provided by a web service are defined in a
WSDL (Web Services Definition Language) file which is posted on the web service's website. To connect to a web service, you need to know the URL for the WSDL. For all the AdSense API services, the URL for the WSDL has the following form:

Adsense guide

Adsense guide This article is meant for the readers who do not need primary introduction to adsense as a superior affiliate program. For a formal introduction to adsense we refer you to advertising programs in google homepage. There is an enormous amount literature published by non- google publishers to confuse a beginner or experienced adsense user to extract some benefit for themselves. Now read on. Adsense is an easy and lucrative method of home business for practically everyone. While publishers find adsense to be a very simple marketing method for generating money, google does all the hard work to make it so. We will not discuss how much google engineers sweat, we will discuss the facts, which are evident but not discussed in most of the publications. Before experiencing the adsense banners in his own publications a publisher's thinking remains clouded by myths, generated by usual internet gossip and unscrupulous sellers. They hit the sentiment of readers by assuming the readers are not earning as expected and offer to share keywords, best adsense format and other ways of achieving higher commission.Google adsense bar displays ads from google adword clients. Based on the traffic available and demands of advertisers, the bidding process decides how much an adword advertiser should pay. Lower limit is at rock bottom $0.05 only while sky is the upper limit. Many advertisers bid $30 per click to get a top rank in sponsored sites listed in search results. As traffic in google search engines is much higher than any of the adsense publishers, google reserves the slots in sponsored sites for the high paying ads only. The lower order of bidders do not find a place in google search engines results page. So where are these ads put up? obviously in pages of websites showing adsense banners.Imagine a keyword fetches bids from $30 to $0.10 per click. The total number of bidders is 50. If google rotates these ads one after another, google earns total $120 in one cycle of rotation. This means google earns $4 per ad on average. But if they restrict to only ten slots and allow only top bidders, the average earning rises to $15 per ad. That's what they do. The rest of the 40 ads are distributed to adsense publishers. If a publisher has traffic comparable to a google search result page, he is rewarded with the high paying ads also.As publishers depend largely on search engine traffic, they do not find high paying ads in their pages. Site traffic can be increased several folds (by links from blogsites, forums, newsletters, public ads and the rest). In normal cases, a click on an adsense may fetch anything between $0.03 to $0.50 as the lower order ads are rotated. These bidders have to find places in adsense bars on web pages with matching keyword contents. We hope the myth about choosing high paying keyword is clarified by the above example. Even if a small publisher chooses a keyword with $100 top bid, he will find clicks worth $0.10 to $0.50 only. The long term click through rate is normally 2% to 3%. That suggests any one of those ads may be clicked anytime. An exception to this practice takes place, when adsense is installed in a page for the first time. A special adsense robot visits the page to check if it conforms to the rules. If text contents are not focused it can not decide what group of ads should be appropriate, instead it inserts a few high paying ads (only for the first time). The first set of ads are unrelated to the page contents. These ads do not find enough impressions as traffic for their adword is small. This is why some surfers have reported in adsense forums about finding an odd reading ad in few websites occasionally. If these ads are not available at that point of time, public service ads are put up. Not only unrelated, they do not have any click value also.So far in the discussion, we assumed that advertisers make a fixed bid for a keyword or phrase. They do not. Advertisers are allowed to set upper and lower limits to cost of clicks.Imagine 2 merchants bidding for the same keyword. Merchant SiteA.com sets his limits from $30 to $20 per click, Marchant SiteB.com chooses $25 to $15 as his limits. To start with SiteA is given higher ranking than SiteB. But if SiteB ad is clicked more often than SiteA ad, Google will lower the position of SiteA with respect to SiteB to give SiteB more oppurtunity. SiteA wiil be placed with other ads having similar click through rate. In the lower position, clicks will cost SiteA a value less than $30. SiteA will spend as much as ads in his neighbourhood are paying. Thus no ad will have to pay its highest bid amount for all the clicks made. But if an ad lacking in optimization in choosing words, collects very poor click through rate, it lands in adsense bar of websites. The average income from adsense publishing lies in the range of $40 to $70 in the begining stages. It depends on daily traffic, keywords used and optimization techniques. If multiple web sites are added to the same account, income can rise tenfolds with time. There is a growing number of websites, typically directory/encyclopedia types, who go for adword and adsense together for the same keywords. The idea initially seems puzzling, as they have to pay much more money to get much less. But the idea works out to be very effective in optimizing adsense to increase earning. By participating in adword campaign, they come to know about the existing bid amounts, their own positions and click through rate. This helps them in eliminating the low bidding ads from their adsense banners, whenever they appear. They earn much more by adsense as only high paying ads appear. They themselves bid for a lower range of PPC rates, ensuring low expenditure for targeted traffic. Besides google adsense, they insert other ads related to page text. The total earnings from ad campaigns far exceed the expenses in adword advertising.

Free Adsense Help

nless you live under a rock, I'm sure you've heard of AdSense™. Maybe you're like a lot of people and you're tired of hearing about other people making hundreds of dollars a day with AdSense™ while you sit on the sidelines making nothing or barely making enough to get a check every month.
Everyone is excited about AdSense™ because it's so easy to use. Even little hobby sites that haven't made a dime in years are now able to put up these little text ads that earn enough money to pay for hosting and maybe a night on the town once a month.
But when it comes to you... that just isn't enough. You dream of making hundreds – or even thousands – of dollars a month.
As easy as AdSense™ is to use, you still need to know how to
drive lots of traffic to your sites, raise your click-through rate to at least 20%, create loads of fresh content, get your pages indexed, and more.
And if you don't know how to do all that, or you're trying to search through pages and pages of forum posts, you're wasting time and money.
We'll just skip the same old hype and 50+ pages of boring nonsense other marketers would subject you to, and just enjoy what we have to offer and how you can use it to boost your AdSense™ income and receive a fat check from Google every month!
Exclusive Software! All Free !
One major thing that sets apart the people who make tons of money from the ones who hardly make any money at all is the custom-made software they use.
The majority of the top AdSense™ earners pay thousands of dollars to have custom software created for them. This gives them the edge they need to make even more money than the average person.
That's right ... many of the top AdSense™ earners pay hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars to have programmers create customized software for them. They usually keep this secret and don't sell their software to anyone else.
And like them, we also have paid programmers a lot of money to create software programs for us. The difference is, we are willing to give access to these priceless tools to you!
Check out software programs you'll have immediate access to:
Ever wanted to know exactly how many people are advertising on AdWords for a particular keyword? Well this software will show you!
This is a great way to find out if your niche is popular or not! For example, the keyword "jokes" is a popular search term... but is it a good keyword to target? According to our software, there are only two companies targeting this keyword. Obviously, the bids for this keyword aren't high if there aren't many companies bidding on it.
This software will also list the URLs of every advertiser who is targeting a specific keyword. We will
show you some sneaky ways you can use this information. ;-)
Writing and submitting articles is one of the best (and free!) ways to get great one-way links to your AdSense™ sites.
Reciprocal links are great ... but having Websites link to you without you having to link to them is WAY better. The search engines take your Website more seriously if they think lots of other sites are linking to you naturally.
This tool helps you submit your articles to over 60 different article sites! Using this tool is a quick way to get your site indexed quickly and ranked higher than all the other AdSense™ sites on the Internet!

Relevant press releases make great content for any AdSense™ site! Not only are press releases full of keywords and original content ... but also the visitors to your site find them useful!
There are currently no software programs that we know of that allow you to type in your keyword and find up to 500 or more brand new press releases from multiple sources. That’s why we created our own!
If you build a large number of AdSense™ sites, you probably have to work with lots of large keyword lists all the time, right?
Having a good software program that can clean those lists is worth its weight in gold! But we’ve tried all the ones out there and none of them had all the features we wanted. One list cleaner would have one cool feature and another software program had a different feature we liked ... but in order to use all the features, we had to run our keywords through multiple programs! What a waste of time that was!
The Keyword List Cleaner we developed has all the features you’d expect from an expensive software program. It removes unwanted characters, removes duplicates, removes spaces from the beginning and ending of keywords, removes extra spaces between words, shortens words that are longer than the amount you specify, and more!
Hard-Hitting Lessons! All Free !
You will also
learn top-secret information that nobody else even knows about! Some of the things you'll learn are:
Why targeting high-paying keywords isn't always the best idea ... make sure you read this before you waste your money on those keyword lists!
How to get your Website indexed twice as fast! This is a trick that only a few people know but we swear it is the best way to get more pages in the search engine!
Find out what's missing from most AdSense™ sites that can boost your income and make people return again and again!
Learn the eight sneaky ways we use our "Google Sponsor Lister" tool to make a lot more money!
Skyrocket your click-through rate! A legitimate way to almost FORCE people to click on your AdSense™ ads!
Discover how to sign up for AdSense™ without getting rejected by Google. This little trick works every time!
We reveal how to stay out of trouble so your AdSense™ account never gets shut down!
Find out what you should know before you even think about quitting your job. If you plan on making a living with AdSense™ you MUST read this lesson first!
Learn about a new Google tag that lets you tell Google what ads you want displayed on your site!
How how to get people write articles for you for as little as $5 each! Then you can use those articles and our Article Site Submitter software to drive tons of traffic to your sites!
And much more!
AdSense™ Science Experiments! All Free !
Think of it as the AdSense™ version of the "Myth Busters™"!
There have been a lot of different misconceptions about AdSense™ floating around since the program launched a couple years ago. We decided to put them to the test and sort fact from fiction!
Some of these experiments are:
Do keywords in the domain name affect the ads? The only way to know for sure was to run some tests!
What works better, blending your ads or making them stand out? Even if you think you know the answer, I'll bet you're only half right!
Do meta tags have any effect on what ads are displayed on your site? This has been a hot topic recently and we prove without a doubt what the right answer is!
Does the AdSense™ spider help you get indexed? In case you didn't know, when you put AdSense™ ads on your site, Google sends a spider (bot) to your pages. Some people say this spider actually helps you get indexed into the search engines! But is that true?
What effect does having a single high PR link pointing at your site have? What happens when it's removed?
Does Google's new "XML Sitemap Format" actually help get your site spidered quickly?
Do keywords closer to the ad affect it more than keywords at the bottom of the page?
Does Google's new tag really make that ads more targeted?
And more!
And there's still more, you'll find some additional features that we know you'll really enjoy! We're not going to tell you right now because we want to keep it a surprise... you'll have to read yourself to find out, so go ahead , there is no charge , enjoy!

Top Paying Keywords List

I have spend many hours creating this list (hand made top paying keywords). You can use this list to target higher paying keywords, without damaging the understanding of the content on your site.
A few more ways you can use the high paying adsense keywords list:
If you are planning on adding more content to your website, you should rather focus the content on a $1+ keyword then on a $0.05 keyword.
Looking to do a new website ? Get ideas from the list on subjects, that matches your interest, and has the possibility of paying as well.
Get an idea of high paying niches, and use the available adsense tools to search for uncharted keywords and sentences that pays.
Restrictions on using the list:
You can not make the list into a commercial product, i.e. charge money for it.
You may not use the list, in whole or partial, as a part of any new lists, or updated lists, without prior approval and with reference to adsenseguide.info
Please observe and abide to the Google Adsense TOS, if and when you are using this list. It is a clear TOS violation, to create websites or webpages with the sole purpose of serving Adsense Ads!
Use at your own risk.
So what is in this top paying adsense keywords list ?
The list contains several thousand top paying keywords, all indexed in top paying excel format.
You will find top paying adsense keywords to many subjects, and also discover quite a few niche areas that you can further develop.
Why am I giving away this top paying keyword list, if it is so power packed with money making keywords?
Basically I simply don't have the time to write enough content for all these top paying keywords. And in the spirit of Adsenseguide.info, I never charge money for anything that should be available to everyone.
All I ask in return for providing you with this list, is that you:
Register at the forum here at adsenseguide and introduce yourself. Then make a few more posts, and you can download the list
Do some
promotion for this list and Adsenseguide, on forums, blogs etc.
As an added benefit for you, the forum will soon become a valuable Adsense resource centre, that can help you even further with your Adsense earnings.
Also, all discussions of the soon to be released php
RevenueMonitor script (formerly known as "AdsenseLogger"), will be posted in the forum.

What is Google Adsense

Google Adsense is one of the most successful online advertising programs today. This website is a guide to the Adsense program, that describes all major aspects, tips and optimizations of the program to help you have the best experience with Google Adsense.
As a webmaster, Google's Adsense program can be a possible income stream from your website, an income that can range from a few dollars to several hundred dollars aMany hours have gone into researching the content for this website, and it will be constantly updated with the latest content related to Google Adsense.
The Google Adsense program is a great alternative, or even replacement, for the outdated banner programs. Today more and more internet users have gone "blind" to banner advertising, and thereby threatening your advertisement income as a webmaster.
Here is what Google writes about it's adsense program:
"Google Adsense is the programme that can generate advertising revenue from each page on your website—with a minimal investment in time and no additional resources.
Adsense delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted on a page-by-page basisto the content people find on your site. And when you add a Google search box to your site, Adsense delivers relevant ads that are targeted to the Google search results pages generated by your visitors’ search request. You can customise the appearance of ads, choosing from a wide range of colours and templates. You can do the same with your search results page. Your reports are customisable, too. Flexible reporting tools let you group your pages in any way you want so you can view your results by URL, domain, ad type, category and more to learn where your earnings are coming from."
Google Adsense ads, are highly content relevant ads, that are served directly on your pages - without your intervention. For you as a webmaster, this means that you simply paste the Google Adsense code on your pages, and thereafter have a constantly updated and relevant advertising income.
You can see an example of Google's Adsense on the top of this page.
The Google Adsense program serves ads generated by AdWords users on Adsense publishers webpage's. The Adsense ad layout can be fully customised to fit your excisting website design, in regards to both size, placement, colours and much more.
Please bookmark this page, and recommend it to anyone interested in learning about Google Adsense.

Why use Google Adsense

Whether you should join the Google adsense program or not - is entirely up to you. However, if you have some free ad space on your website(s), you should certainly consider joining Google adsense.
Here are a few reasons for you to consider about adsense:
No need to change outdated ads on your website - everything is handled by Google's adbot googlebot.
Google adsense serves non intrusive ads, compared to popins, popouts, floating ads etc.
Display well written content related advertising, that will match your site subject.
Save time finding advertisers for your ad space.
One simple
code to paste on your pages, no programming skills needed.
You can change the
colours of the adsense ads displayed, so that they fit your current site layout.
Google adsense serves the best ads for your pages from over 150.000 AdWords advertisers.
Google adsense is easy to join, most websites with original content gets accepted.

And then there's the money part (what advertising actually is all about, for you, Google and the AdWords users). Google's Adsense Terms forbids its users to disclose actual earnings examples.
However, a few general guidelines you can use to understand the earning potential of Google Adsense:
Your daily adsense earnings are determined by 4 things:
1 .The number of clicks by your users on the Adsense ads.
This is a factor that you can't and actually are not allowed to influence on! Google's Adsense terms directly forbids you to encourage your users click your ads. This means you cant write "please support us, click the ads" or "find more information by clicking the ads" etc. Be warned, using any of these methods or similar (there are many variations), will get you banned from the adsense program, and all your earnings will be lost! Play fair !
So what can you do to get more Google Adsense clicks legally ?
There are actually many ways to legally encourage a higher click thru rate, have a look at
Adsense tips and tricks.
2. The number of page views you serve (how many pages your website visitors view).
This is the factor that you can have the greatest influence on. The more page views (visitors) to your website, the higher is the chance that you will get clicks on your adsense ads. However, before you rush out and generate thousands of hits to your website, please consider the fact that quality visitors will generate higher revenue for you than "Bulk" visitors. Quality visitors are people who have a genuine interest in the subject your website is about, and are therefore more likely to be interested in the Google Adsense ads served on your website pages.
Example:
Let's say that your website is about Siamese cats, and you get a lot of general non targeted visitors (bulk) - how many will click on an ad about breeding Siamese Cats? Now, on the other hand if you try to get quality visitors that are passionate about Siamese Cats, your chances are much higher that some of your visitors want to read about breeding Siamese Cats.
So to sum this up, always design your website, and write your content to a targetted audience.
Tip. Read the page about
optimizing Adsense before you start to changing your pages!
3. Your CTR (Click Thru Rate) = page views divided by clicks in percentage.
Your CTR is simply a measurement for how well you are doing as an Adsense Publisher. What this means is that, if you have a high CTR on your pages, you are likely to be serving well written content, that are targeted to your audience. It appears that Google is favouring Adsense publishers with a high CTR, and therefore paying a higher percentage to these publishers.
4. The amount paid by a AdWords advertiser, for the keyword a Adsense add is about.
It is important to understand how the Google Adsense and Google AdWords programs interact. Google AdWords is a program for the advertisers, meaning that they pay Google a certain amount for each click thru on their ads on a given keyword. Google Adsense is the program for webmasters (publishers), that pays publishers for clicks on content relevant ads.
Example:
John creates an Google AdWords ad about used BMW car parts, and want the ad to appear on pages that are relevant to BMW car parts.
Brian runs a community page for BMW fans, and have a section on his site about buying and selling BMW car parts.
One of Brian's visitors clicks on John's Ad, and John is charged x $ for this click. Brian on the other hand is awarded with x $ by Google for serving the ad, and the resulting click.
So what does that mean for you as a Adsense Publisher ?
Unfortunately Google doesn't reveal what a click is worth, so you can only do a bit of qualified guessing using these
Adsense Tools.
Some clicks range from $0,00 and are seen to go over $50 !
To continue a bit on our earlier discussion about writing content relevant web pages, you should place serious consideration on the keywords that you want to target with your pages.
Lets take our example on John and Brian again.
For the sake of argument, lets say that John is willing to pay $10 for each click on his ads.
Then let us bring Greg into play as well, he is also creating an add about selling BMW car parts, however not used ones but new. Greg is willing to pay $0,10 for each click on his ads.
Brian's pages was targeted towards selling BMW car parts. So this means that there's is a good chance that both John's and Greg's ads will appear at Brian's Adsense ads. This means that Brian is serving Adsense ads that are paying a percentage of both $0,10 and $10.
Now, what if Brian changed his pages to target buying and selling USED car parts ?
Since Google Adsense constantly try's to serve the most content relevant ads, it is very likely that Brian will begin serving John's $10 AdWords ad, that he will earn a percentage of. Brian's pages are still about the same subject, and with the same content - just targeted against a higher paying niche keyword.
Ask yourself, would you rather earn a percentage of 10 clicks on Greg's ad or a percentage of 10 clicks on John's ad??
To sum it all up, your Google Adsense earnings will be determined by a combination of the 4 mentioned factors above.
If you are looking for a nice extra advertising income, Google adsense can in many cases be the answer.
Independent statements made by users on the internet shows that some advertisers are earning from less than 1 dollar a day and to way above several hundred dollars a day with the Adsense program.
We cant and wont make any promises to what your Google adsense income will be, but we can promise you that if you read through the sections of this website, you will have the best foundation for succeeding with Google's Adsense program.

Make Money With Google Adsense

Make Money With Google Adsense
Let me start off by saying, any person who owns or is thinking about creating a website would be crazy to ignore this. Earning money with your site, no matter the topic, has become easier than it's ever been before.First of all, Google.com earns most of its money by allowing other website owners to advertise on their search result pages. Now you can earn a share of the revenue that Google earns by placing these same text ads on your site. In other words, you're helping Google advertise. The program is called Adsense.I don't usually like to use the term "easy money" because there really is no such thing. You still have to create your own website and learn how to bring in traffic in order to make good money with this program. I certainly don't want to make it sound like you get something for doing absolutely nothing. However, I've got to say that Adsense is the closest I've ever come to "fast cash" on the Internet. And what's even better...the program is completely free. You can add the ads to multiple websites and there is no limit to the amount you can earn.I have been receiving monthly checks from Google since July of 2003. A colleague of mine earned $2,000 during his first month, and I've read numerous success stories of websites earning 5 digit incomes per month with Adsense. There are no catches, hidden fees or tricks to success here. All you need is a website that gets some traffic. Now, a 5-digit income in a single month is not the norm for most participants. My monthly checks usually range between $500 and $600, but it shows you what is possible if you learn how to capitalize on this opportunity. You can definitely earn a healthy profit if your site becomes popular and receives a lot of traffic.Mark my words....Every website owner should be involved in this. It's just too good of an opportunity to pass up. Even if your site is just for information purposes, you can still participate and make decent money with Adsense -- or at least enough to fund your website. So if you are one of those people that don't like the idea of paying for a site, this is an excellent way to earn your money back and then some. Even if you earned as little as $10 in a month, it would more than likely cover some or all of the costs for your web site. Or, if you are simply looking for ways to add additional revenue to your website, then it's perfect for that situation too. This program is getting so popular, people are creating websites just to display the ads and profit from Google's Adsense alone. How Adsense WorksIf you go to Google.com and do a search for almost any keyword phrase, you'll notice some "Sponsored Links" that appear on the right side of the screen that are relevant to the keywords you just searched for. You'll also see similar results when you do searches in MSN and other sites.Website owners pay Google to display these ads and are charged a predetermined amount every time their ad gets clicked by a web surfer. With the Adsense program, you will display these same text ads on your site just like Google and get paid for it. All you do is copy and paste some provided HTML code into your pages and Voila!Every time an ad is clicked on your site, you will receive a certain percentage of what Google receives from the advertiser.Once your account reaches $100, you'll receive a check in the mail."Is Google Crazy?"I know what you're probably thinking..."What's the catch here? Why would Google just give away money advertisers are paying them?"The answer...Because Google is very smart. Now that I understand how Adsense works, I can see that it's a win-win situation for everyone involved, and the bottom line benefits Google.Let me explain...Since the advertiser's ads are now being displayed on more web sites all over the internet (instead of just Google's site), they are getting much more exposure. More exposure means more clicks and even more traffic for their site over a shorter period of time. This is good news for Google because the more traffic the advertisers receive, the faster their advertising funds are used up. Remember, they get charged every time their site gets a visit. And of course, it is Google's hope that they'll continue to keep funneling more money into their account for more ad exposure. What an ingenious way for Google to increase the amount of money they earn from advertisers while building loyalty with website owners (like us) who are now getting paid to help them advertise.Of course, I'd expect nothing less from the #1 search engine on the web. :)"How Much Can I Earn With Adsense?"Google does not disclose exactly how much you'll earn per ad that is clicked. The commission you receive per click depends on how much advertisers are paying Google for the particular ad. You will earn a share of that amount. I've heard of earnings anywhere from 2 cents to $15 per click. So it is logical to believe that keyword phrases like debt free, employment, make money, mp3, sex, etc. will earn you more per click since these are highly competitive keywords that are searched for quite a bit on the web. Advertisers generally pay more for competitive terms for obvious reasons.Even though Google will not reveal how much you are earning for each ad that is clicked from your site, you can still login to your account at any time and see the total amount of revenue you've generated that day, week, month, year, etc.For example, if you see that you've made $12.60 today from 9 clicks then you can calculate that your average click-thru commission was $1.40 per click. That's as detailed as their stats will get. And remember, that's only an average. You'll still never know how much each specific ad brought in.The amount you'll earn also depends largely on the amount of targeted traffic you receive to your own site, how well the ads match your audience's interests, the placement of the ads on your pages, and of course the amount you receive per click.Ideally, you should create a site on a topic you know a lot about. That way you'll have a much easier time creating a generous amount of content on that subject. How Google Matches the Ads to Your Site's ContentOne of the main reasons this program is so successful is because the ads that are displayed closely match the content of your website. This increases the chances that someone will click on the ads. Here's how Google accomplishes the content match (in their own words)..."...We go beyond simple keyword matching to understand the context and content of web pages. Based on an algorithm that includes such factors as keyword analysis, word frequency, font size, and the overall link structure of the web, we know what a page is about, and can precisely match Google ads to each page."So let's say you have an information website about yoga. Once you join Adsense and paste their ad code into your site, Google's technology will determine the topic of the pages by scanning for keyword repeats, page title, etc. If successful, you will see ads that relate to yoga displayed on your web pages. Of course, the more related the ads are to your site's content, the better the click-thru.Keep in mind, the ads may not be an exact match because it depends on the ads inside Google's database. So instead of seeing yoga ads, you may see more generic ads like exercise, healthy eating, etc. This is not a bad thing because these are topics your visitors will likely be interested in as well. Why I Believe Adsense Works So WellFor years, website owners have tried to make money from their sites by putting up banner ads in hopes of visitors clicking them. The problem with banner ads is that the Internet audience is so immune to them, people do not click on them anymore. When's the last time you clicked a banner ad? Exactly!Second, in order for the web site owner to earn money from that banner ad, usually the web surfer that clicks has to purchase something. With Adsense, your visitors just have to click the ads. They don't have to purchase anything.Third, most people that use banner ads do not do a good job of matching the ads to the website's content so the click thru percentages are dismal. With Google's Adsense, not only are you displaying text ads, (which tend to receive a much higher click-thru rate than banner ads), but you are displaying contextual ads that match your website's content....thanks to Google's advanced technology.Tips on Succeeding With AdsenseHere are some tips for achieving success with Adsense.1. Create a website with your own domain name. Don't try to use a free web host because your site will likely have banners and pop-ups and get rejected because it looks unprofessional. Not to mention, a free web host will get you a web site address like this:http://thefreewebhost.com/yoursite/member1234/home.htmlinstead of...http://www.yoursite.comSee how much more clean and concise that last link is?If paying for a website causes you to frown, remember the money you earn from Adsense could more than pay for the web hosting fees you'll incur. Look at it as an investment instead of a cost. I never dreamed I'd be earning up to $600 in a month in such a short time. My Adsense earnings clearly outweigh the few dollars I pay every month to maintain my sites.2. If the main goal of your site is to make money with Adsense, be sure to choose a topic that you know a lot about so you can write lots of content.Don't like to write? No problem! There are sites like www.articlecity.com that provide content for free. Just search their database and find articles that match the theme of your site.3. Speaking of traffic, once your site is up and running you'll need to learn how to get your site listed in the major search engines. Getting into Google is completely free right now and can bring in hundreds or even thousands of visitors per day. All you have to do is submit your site to The Open Directory (free) and within 6-8 weeks your site will begin showing up in Google. It can take a while to get into the Open Directory, plus they don't accept every site. So make sure your website is in tip-top shape and has a clear focus with solid, unique content. Once you have at least 15 to 20 pages, visit their site, find your site's category and suggest it to one of the editors using their suggestion form. It can take a while before someone reviews it, but it's worth it because a listing here is almost a guaranteed spot in Google's engine. You can also try to get into Google by submitting your site at www.google.com/addurl.html, however many have found this is not always guaranteed. It certainly can't hurt to try, though. You'll also find that once you start appearing in one or two search engines, others will start adding your site as well. There is lots of free traffic out there and most of it comes from the good ole search engines.4. Also, partner up with other related sites and participate in link swaps. This means that you place a link to another person's site on your own site and they do the same for you in return. This is a great way to get even more free traffic.5. Don't be a copycat! I read an article about a lazy person that copied someone else's content word for word and pasted on their own site. They tried to join Adsense and they were rejected for unauthentic content. I don't know how Google found out their site was a duplicate of someone else's but they did. It's not worth the risk. With sites like www.articlecity.com that provide free content for you to use, there's no reason to copy off someone else's site. Be original. Laziness always comes to bite you in the long-run.How to Join AdsenseAfter you have created your website and you're starting to get some traffic, go to the link on the left where it says "Generate Revenue...Google Adsense" to apply. Most sites are either accepted or rejected within 24 to 48 hours, so you shouldn't have to wait too long to find out if your application has been approved.Once you've been accepted, simply copy and paste the provided HTML code into any page that you'd like to show the ads. If you've done a good job of defining the content on your web pages, the ads that show should be relevant to the content of your page...increasing the chances of click-thrus by your visitors. You can either display the ads vertically along side the page like Google does or in a banner-like formation horizontally across your pages. The placement is up to you. You can even customize the colors to match your site's theme. If Your Site Is Rejected...If you receive that email from Google stating that your site has not been accepted, the first thing you should remember is that as an Adsense member, you are a partner and are representing Google. They have to make sure the websites that display these ads are up to par or they could run the risk of losing advertisers. Imagine if you were paying Google to display your ad and you found it showing up on a poorly developed, junky website.Of course, if your site is rejected, it doesn't mean it is poorly developed. There may be other reasons:1) Is your site an "About Me" page? Google does not usually accept these kinds of personal sites because most of them do not have a specific topic or theme. They are usually just random facts about the website owner. It would be difficult for Google's technology to display targeted ads on these kinds of pages. They are looking for "theme" sites that contain a generous amount of information on a specific topic. It could be anything from sewing tips to sports. Just make sure there is an obvious theme with enough information.2) Is your site organized? Be sure your site has a neat and clean navigation that's easy to follow. Also ensure all the links work and that there are no typos. Keep the colors to a minimum and make sure each page has a consistent layout.3) How many pages are on your site? Even though Google doesn't specify a page number requirement, many believe they are looking for web sites with a certain amount of content. Again, it's not likely a two-page site will get accepted. Try to strive for at least 15 pages.4) Is your content solid? Don't just submit a website with a bunch of links to other sites. Be sure you have enough original content of your own to make your site unique.5) Is your site an exact carbon copy of someone else's? Some believe Google can find out if your site is original or not. Don't risk it and steal from someone else. It will come back to haunt you.If you're stuck, write a few articles of your own and then go to sites like www.articlecity.com and sprinkle a few of their articles around your site to beef it up.6) Be sure to read their program policy and procedures carefully and make sure your site hasn't violated any of the terms.
